Chinese tourist found dead after plummeting from ninth floor of hotel in Kota Kinabalu


KOTA KINABALU: A Chinese tourist was found dead after she was believed to have fallen off the ninth floor of a hotel here, early Sunday (Dec 7).

The victim, in her 30s, was found unconscious on top of a vehicle that was parked under the hotel at around 7am.

The victim, who was from Beijing, was here on holiday with her husband.

Kota Kinabalu deputy OCPD Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said a team of investigators had rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at around 7am.

“Medical officials at the scene pronounced the victim dead before taking the body to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.

Investigations are ongoing, he said.
