THE behaviour of a 13-year old girl has changed since being diagnosed with brain cancer, Harian Metro reported.

Nur Iman Syamimi Muhammad Shauki now behaves like a child, said her mother Sharifah Noraliza Sharif Nordin, 38.

She said a tumour in her daughter’s brain disrupted her nervous system, resulting in vision loss, difficulty communicating and an inability to walk.

“She speaks like a child, learning how to talk,” said her mother.

The family first noticed changes early this year when Nur Iman Syamimi began losing her appetite and could not walk steadily.

Tests at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar revealed a brain tumour and fluid buildup.

Following her diagnosis, Nur Iman Syamimi stopped attending school due to her deteriorating health.

Her father sells coconuts for income while her mother is unemployed, leaving the family in financial hardship while taking care of two more children.

> Six cleaners won a lawsuit against their employer for failing to pay the minimum wage, Sinar Harian reported.

The cleaning company lost an appeal at the High Court in Kota Baru and was ordered to pay the remaining RM28,500.

The court ruled that the company failed to comply with the Minimum Wage Order 2022, which required a monthly salary payment of RM1,500 when the workers were assigned to the Kelantan State Secretary’s Office between May 2022 and July 2023.

Justice Shamsul Bahrin Abdul Manaf rejected the defendant’s argument that the State Secretary’s Office should be responsible for wage payments.

The judge stressed that the party that employed the workers bears the responsibility to comply with labour laws.
