15-year-old girl falls from 24th floor to her death in Kota Syahbandar

MELAKA: A 15-year-old girl was found dead after she is believed to have fallen from the 24th floor of a homestay unit at a condominium in Kota Syahbandar on Thursday (Nov 27).

A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, informed The Star that a teenager had been on vacation with her parents for the past few days.

She was found unconscious on the ground floor by a security guard around 2pm, after which the police were notified.

The 47-year-old resident stated that the victim had been asked by her parents to collect a food delivery at around 1.30pm, but she never returned.

"They tried calling her mobile phone several times but were unable to reach her.

"Moments later, security personnel informed them that their daughter had been found motionless below the building,” he said.

The body was sent to Melaka Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Melaka Tengah police were expected to issue a full statement on the incident later.

This was the second fatal fall reported at the same condominium this year.

In August, a 24-year-old man died after plunging from the 27th floor of his unit while on holiday with his fiancée.
