BigBen operating round-the-clock to monitor flood situation, says Works Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Works Department (JKR) has activated its Disaster Operations Room, known as BigBen, on Level 3 to operate round-the-clock in response to worsening floods and landslides in several states, particularly on the East Coast, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The Works Minister said that BigBen, located at JKR headquarters, is responsible for coordinating nationwide infrastructure damage data, monitoring field situations in real time, overseeing JKR technical teams' movements, and serving as the main reference centre for the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
