Army launches podcast to highlight personnel contributions

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Armed Forces has launched an official podcast to better highlight its achievements and the contributions of its personnel to the public.

The first episode is scheduled to be uploaded on the army's official YouTube channel on Thursday (Oct 22).

Armed Forces chief Gen Tan Sri Azhan Md Othman is the guest for the inaugural episode, which was partially shot at Wisma Pertahanan on Wednesday (Oct 21).

“The Army Podcast will also highlight the contributions of military personnel working behind the scenes in various operations, missions and other assignments.

“The platform is also expected to attract the interest of younger generations while promoting the army to the public,” it said in a statement.

Each episode is expected to run for about 40 minutes, with new episodes to be uploaded every other Monday.

In a separate matter, Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman and the Army also officiated the soft launch for the film Takluk 2: Op Daulat at Wisma Pertahanan.

"The ceremony included an introduction to the film project and the signing of an agreement, highlighting the use of creative platforms to convey patriotism and enhance public appreciation of the sacrifices made by security personnel in defending the country's sovereignty," the Army said.

The film is inspired by the real-life events of Operation Daulat in Lahad Datu, Sabah, and portrays the courage and sacrifices of security personnel in defending the country's sovereignty.

"Through this creative medium, the production aims to raise public awareness of the importance of national defence and security," it added.
