A 21-YEAR-OLD man in India fatally stabbed a high school student who refused his romantic advances, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Muniraj, a fisherman in Rameswaram, had apparently been harassing 18-year-old student Shalini Mariappan for several days.

He claimed that he was in love with her and asked her to be his girlfriend.

Fed up with his behaviour, Shalini complained to her father, who went to the young man’s house and scolded him.

Two days ago, as Shalini was on her way to school, Muniraj once again confronted her and asked her to reciprocate his love.

When she rejected him again, Muniraj pulled out a knife, stabbed her repeatedly and then ran away.

The victim died on the spot, while Muniraj was later found and arrested by the police.
