Man drowns at Kuala Kubu Bharu recreational area


HULU SELANGOR: A man drowned after swimming at a recreational area in Kuala Kubu Bharu on Nov 15.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ibrahim Husin said a call was received via the MERS 999 hotline, reporting that a woman and a man had drowned while swimming in the area.

Police were deployed, with the journey to the scene taking about two hours and 30 minutes due to hilly terrain.

The rescue team located both victims, with the woman found alive.

"The man was found unconscious. Efforts to bring the victims down were carried out with help from additional rescue teams.

"At about 10.47pm, the female victim arrived safely at the assembly point and was taken to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for treatment.

"The male victim was successfully brought down at around 12.17am and medical officers at the scene confirmed his death.

"The case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report," he said.
