Cops nab three suspected of breaking into 14 high-end homes

SEREMBAN: A trio suspected of 14 house break-ins at gated communities across the Klang Valley have been nabbed, police say.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said seven cases were reported here and the remaining seven in Selangor.

He said police detained a 37-year-old Chinese national in City Park near here around 1.15am on Nov 8, while his accomplices were apprehended two days later.

ACP Azahar said the first suspect was seen in a car, and several tools believed to be used in house break-ins were found in the vehicle upon inspection.

"In a follow-up operation on Nov 10, we arrested a 60-year-old local man and a 64-year old woman who was a Chinese national and believed to be the first suspects' partners in crime," he said.

ACP Azahar said checks in the suspects' home in Lebuh Pudu in Kuala Lumpur also yielded 27 watches, nine pieces of jewellery, five branded bags, three bank ATM cards, two mobile phones, various foreign currencies and RM18,000.

He said police had stepped up checks after receiving a report of a break-in at a unit in Taman Sri Carcosa in Seremban 2 on Aug 13.

The victim lost various branded watches and jewellery worth some RM35,000 in the incident.

Police, he said, had also obtained an order to remand the suspects until Nov 15.

He urged anyone with information on the cases can contact the district police hotline at 06-6033222.
