Baby boy found abandoned in uncompleted house in Bachok


BACHOK: A baby boy, believed to be a newborn, was found in a house still under construction near SMK Pak Badol, Gunong here on Tuesday (Nov 4).

Bachok district police chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin said his team received a report in relation to the discovery of the baby by staff from the Mahligai Health Clinic here at 8.45am.

"The baby boy was found only wrapped in a green cloth by the public at the location,” he said in a statement here today.

"Initial examination by a doctor found that the baby did not possess any physical injuries but there were reddish marks on his face, suspected to be due to recent birth."

Elaborating further, Mohamad Ismail said the baby was sent to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kubang Kerian for further examination and was reported to be in a stable condition.

He also said his department is currently investigating the case to identify the individuals responsible and that the case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code. - Bernama
