Perikatan prepares for Sabah State Election, seat announcement coming soon

PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional will be an active participant in the Sabah State Election and will announce which seats it will focus on soon.

The party secretary-general, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, announced this in a statement on Monday (Oct 27).

He said that the decision was made by the party’s supreme council in a meeting chaired by the party’s chairman, Tan Seri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin, on the same day.

“Tonight’s meeting discussed several important matters relating to the Sabah State Election and also the appointment of the chairman of each state liaison committee,” said Azmin.

In the meeting, Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal was named as the chairman of the Perikatan Johor state liaison committee, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md. Nor for Kedah, Datuk Ahmad Yakob for Kelantan and Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin for Melaka.

Also named as the chairman of their respective state liaison committee were Mohamed Hanifah Abu Baker for Negri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man for Pahang, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu for Perak and Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim for Perlis.

For Pulau Pinang, Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai was named as its Perikatan state liaison committee chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee for Sabah, Jaziri Alkaf Abdillah Suffian for Sarawak, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali for Selangor, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar for Terengganu, and Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md. Jidin for the Federal Territories.

“The appointment of the chairman of the Perikatan state liaison committee will take effect on 28 October 2025,” said Azmin.
