Thailand-Cambodia peace pact proceeds as Anutin visits Kuala Lumpur on Oct 26

KUALA LUMPUR: The Thailand-Cambodia peace pact will proceed as Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is slated to arrive in Malaysia on Oct 26 to sign a ceasefire deal with Cambodia.

Anutin was initially scheduled to arrive in Kuala Lumpur for the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits on Saturday (Oct 25) but cancelled his trip following the passing of Queen Mother Sirikit.

He told reporters that he would be in Kuala Lumpur to sign the deal on Sunday (Oct 26) and would return to Thailand afterwards.

Anutin also confirmed that he would not attend next week’s Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim were slated to witness the peace deal to resolve the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia.
