Foreign Minister extends condolences over passing of Thailand's Queen Sirikit


KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Thailand's former Queen Sirikit.

“My sympathy goes out to the government and people of Thailand,” said Mohamad in his opening remarks during the Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Saturday (Oct 25).

Queen Sirikit, passed away at 9.21pm on Friday (Oct 24) at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital at the age of 93.

The Thai Queen Mother was revered for her contributions to social welfare and cultural preservation.

As the mother of the current King Vajiralongkorn, she also played a significant role in the country's modern history.

Her legacy in promoting Thai culture and strengthening regional ties is widely acknowledged.
