"Confirmed - Donald Trump will arrive in Malaysia on Oct 26. The Foreign Affairs Ministry will announce any changes," he said at a press conference after inspecting the preparations at the International Media Centre and International Broadcast Centre for the 47th Asean Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Wednesday (Oct 22).

Also present were Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, acting deputy editor-in-chief (News Services) Mohd Shukri Ishak and deputy editor-in-chief of Economic News Services Azlina Aziz.

On Monday (Oct 20), Trump reportedly mentioned for the first time publicly plans to visit Malaysia in the near future but provided no further details.

The 47th Asean Summit, themed "Inclusivity and Sustainability", will be held from Oct 26 to 28, with participation from the top leaders of the 10 Asean member states and key dialogue partners including the US, China, Japan and India. - Bernama
