IPOH: A disaster management simulation will be held at Kledang Saiong Forest Eco Park on Oct 30.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the exercise aims to improve preparedness, coordination and cooperation among relevant agencies during rescue operations.

“The exercise involves 12 government agencies engaged in disaster management and actions at state level,” he said on Tuesday (Oct 21).

“During the exercise, there will be heavy deployment of personnel and assets in the surrounding area,” he said.

“To ensure the exercise runs smoothly, the area will be closed to the public,” he added.

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin said the public is advised to cooperate and avoid unverified speculation during the exercise to prevent confusion.

“The public should not be worried about any incidents during the exercise, as it is a simulation,” he said.

He said the simulation will run from 8am to 5pm.
