Woman injured after being trapped in rubble following collapse of Sijangkang coordinator's office


KLANG: A 51-year-old woman was injured when the Sijangkang state constituency coordinator's office at Kampung Medan Telok Panglima Garang collapsed Wed.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the woman was trapped under the rubble.

He added that firemen managed to extricate the woman, who was conscious throughout, from under the debris.

"She suffered injuries to the waist and thigh and has been handed over to the Health Ministry for treatment," he said.

The building collapse also involved a nearby Quran and Fardhu Ain (KAFA) surau where about nine students received minor injuries.

"All the victims are being treated by Health Ministry staff at the location," said Ahmad Mukhlis.

He said that the emergency call was received at 4.24pm and fire engines arrived at the scene by 4.43pm.
