Dengkil landslide: Foreign worker killed, another injured


KUALA LUMPUR: A Bangladeshi contract worker was killed while another was injured after being buried in a landslide at a project site near Cybersouth, Dengkil, on Tuesday (Oct 14).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 4.19 pm, and a team from the Dengkil Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene about nine minutes later.

"Both victims, who are Bangladeshi men, were contract workers for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). They were reportedly buried under the soil while working at the site.

"One victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a Health Ministry personnel, while the other sustained a broken arm,” he said in a statement on Tuesday. — Bernama
