LRT3 Shah Alam Line to begin service on June 29

KUALA LUMPUR: The highly anticipated LRT3 Shah Alam Line will begin full operations starting next Monday (June 29), says Anthony Loke.

The Transport Minister said the opening ceremony for the line will be held this Sunday (June 28) to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“The ceremony is currently planned to take place at the LRT3 line’s main depot.

“The line will then become fully operational for the public by the next day on Monday,” he said in a press conference after opening a new Road Transport Department (JPJ) outlet at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) here on Monday.

The Shah Alam line was slated to begin operations in 2025 after starting construction in 2017 but had been delayed several times last year.

Speaking on the train derailment incident near Chan Sow Lin LRT station on May 28, Loke added that a full report would be ready this week as repair works on the Ampang Line are still ongoing.
