Thunderstorm warning issued for eight states until 1pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for most parts of Malaysia, including Selangor and Penang.

In an advisory issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department at 9.50am on Sunday (Oct 12), thunderstorms are expected over the entire state of Perlis and Melaka.

Also affected are Selangor (Kuala Langat and Sepang), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, and Manjung) and Negri Sembilan (Seremban and Port Dickson).

Other areas are Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu and Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai, and Johor Baru).

The advisory is until 1pm today.
