Bangladeshi woman cuts off lover's privates after learning he is married

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A Bangladeshi woman has been arrested by police after brutally cutting off her boyfriend's genitals after learning that he is married to a woman back in his home country.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said police received a report on the incident from a Malaysian man at 10.45am on Wednesday (Oct 8).

He said the complainant reported that his acquaintance, a 33-year-old Bangladeshi man, suffered injuries to his genitals and left hand after his girlfriend attacked him in Kampung Lokan, Gelang Patah.

"The victim was taken to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Baru for treatment," he said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 9), Sinar Harian reported.

He said that the suspect, a 34-year-old Bangladeshi woman, was arrested at 12.15pm the same day, adding that she did not have a criminal record and tested negative for drugs.

Police also seized a 29cm-long knife.

"The suspect has been remanded for five days until Oct 13," said ACP Kumarasan, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
