Senawang schoolboy's death: Cops record statements from 35 individuals

SEREMBAN: Police have recorded statements from 35 individuals so far in connection with an incident, in which a Year Four pupil was found unconscious at a school in Senawang here and later pronounced dead.

Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said those who had their statements taken comprised students, teachers, school staff, doctors, and members of the victim’s family.

"We are also obtaining several reports and records from the school involved, as well as from the Forensics Department, and the hospital. The investigation papers are expected to be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor in the near future.

Further investigations are underway, and the case is being probed under Section 507C of the Penal Code,” he told Bernama here today, while also urging the public not to make any speculation that could disrupt the investigation process.

The police received a report about the incident at 1.19pm on Wednesday (Oct 1), while the pupil was receiving initial treatment at a nearby private clinic. The victim was found unconscious in the school’s boys’ restroom and was later confirmed dead.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek was reported as saying that her ministry was leaving the investigation entirely to the police, stressing that it would be conducted transparently. - Bernama
