ACTRESS Lana Nodin lost nearly RM12,000 to a married couple in a scam, Harian Metro reported.

Lana, 46, said the husband and wife, who run a textile company, had failed to deliver the hijab orders she placed back in January.

“This has been going on since January, but I didn’t realise that actress Abby Abadi had also been scammed and had lashed out at the same people.

“I later found out that many others had also fallen victim to them, losing tens of thousands of ringgit,” she added.

Lana said she had lodged a report at the Taman Melawati police station.

Bera district Islamic Welfare and Da’wah Association chairman Mat Jidi Yaakob said residents believe the incident stems from industrial waste discharge or pesticides seeping into the river.

Meanwhile, Bera district officer Datuk Ahmad Nasim Mohd Sidek said the pollution is under control and is being closely monitored by the Environment Department and Fisheries Department.
