DILI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received the Grand Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, the nation's highest award, in recognition of his long-standing advocacy and Malaysia's role in supporting the country's Asean aspirations, particularly as the Asean Chair for 2025.

President Dr José Ramos-Horta conferred the award after Anwar delivered his Presidential Lecture entitled "Asean & The Role of Timor-Leste" at the Presidential Palace here on Wednesday (Sept 24).

"On behalf of fellow Malaysians, I humbly accept this (award) and express our gratitude to receive your nation's highest and most prestigious honour," said Anwar.
