KUANTAN: A trailer truck crashed into the Felda Kechau 8 auxiliary police control post in Kuala Lipis Wednesday (Sept 17) morning, resulting in injuries to the driver and one auxiliary police officer.

Lipis OCPD Supt Ismail Man said that the incident occurred around 9:50am when a 28-year-old male driver of an unladen trailer truck, traveling from Sungai Temau towards Kuantan, reportedly lost control before crashing into the control post and a car.

"The impact caused the roof and walls of the control post to collapse onto a motorcycle that was in the area," he said in a statement Wednesday.

He added that as a result of the accident, the truck driver and a 23-year-old auxiliary police officer, who was inside the control post, sustained injuries and are currently being treated at the Kuala Lipis Hospital.

Ismail also mentioned that another auxiliary police officer, aged 31, who was involved in the incident, did not suffer any injuries.

He said that the case was being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation. - Bernama
