Investigations into Dr M's assets, including overseas, ongoing, says Azam Baki

PUTRAJAYA: Investigations into the assets of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad are still ongoing, says Tan Sri Azam Baki.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner said the commission is currently working with foreign enforcement agencies to obtain detailed information.

“The investigation into Dr Mahathir is still underway, and we are gathering information, particularly from the authorities in the United Kingdom, regarding the assets linked to him.

"Once the information is obtained, we will inform the public,” he told a press conference in Putrajaya on Tuesday (Sept 9).

The probe into Dr Mahathir’s assets drew public attention after he was among those ordered to declare assets to the MACC.

Dr Mahathir has repeatedly denied allegations that he possesses extraordinary wealth, describing the claims as politically motivated.
