Digital Ministry in talks with JPJ on autonomous vehicle laws

CYBERJAYA: The Digital Ministry is in discussions with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) on drawing up a legal framework to govern autonomous vehicles, says Gobind Singh Deo.

“We held talks with JPJ on how we can assess this and prepare the country for the future so that we are prepared to use this technology,” he said when launching Malaysia’s first Vehicle Forensic Laboratory here on Monday (Sept 8).

Gobind said his ministry has also begun talks with the Transport Ministry on the autonomous vehicle network.
