A YOUNG woman made a decision to sacrifice her career and move back to Pahang to care for her father, Kosmo! reported.

Nur Farah Wahdani Samsudin, 28, recently resigned from her job as kindergarten teacher in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

She returned to Felda Sungai Koyan 2 to care for her father Samsudin Lop, 69, who suffers from various chronic illnesses.

She said that Samsudin has been left on his own for almost five years since her mother passed away from breast cancer in August 2020.

“My father’s health has deteriorated since then as he lives alone without any care from me or my other five siblings, who have their own commitments.

“As the youngest, I decided it was my duty to quit my job and return home to look after him.”

Nur Farah added that her father went through hernia corrective surgery on Aug 5 after suffering from unbearable pain.

She said this then made her realise the urgent need to return and care for him.

“My father has to watch what he eats, as there is a risk of gout and hernia attacks recurring. So I make sure he eats the right food every day,” she said.

Fortunately for Nur Farah, she revealed that she has since been offered a job as a clerk so she can continue to earn a living.

> Comedian Shuk Sahar and his wife Fara Salleh are finally divorced.

Fara said their marriage status was confirmed by the Johor Lower Syariah Court after months of uncertainty, Kosmo! reported.

She was now resolving the divorce process following Shuk’s talaq (divorce) pronouncement in April this year.

Fara said this was to facilitate identification documents for their daughter as the marriage was solemnised abroad.

The couple, who tied the knot in Thailand in November 2023, welcomed their child, Elaine Nada, on June 26 this year.

The court proceedings came after tensions flared between the two when Shuk allegedly failed to attend their first marriage confirmation hearing on July 10.

Fara had accused Shuk of neglecting the case.
