DESPITE nursing a fever, Hong Kong superstar Jacky Cheung soldiered on and completed the 277th show of his world tour recently, China Press reported.
The 64-year-old God of Songs was scheduled to perform three shows in China between Aug 29 and 31, all of which were postponed from June due to the Gaokao – China’s gruelling university entrance exam.
As such, Cheung could no longer postpone it a second time and went ahead with his performance.
The singer apologised to fans during the show, saying that he was unable to give his best due to his illness and raspy voice.
Fans, however, sympathised with Cheung saying they were content just being able to see the superstar.
> The daily also reported that a woman in Guangxi, China made a police report after her daughter was bitten by a small tiger at a zoo.
The incident took place on Aug 30 when a mother brought her seven-year-old to the Xiong Sen Animal World in Guigang city.
The woman, whose surname was Feng, said her daughter got a chance to stroke a small tiger under a zookeeper’s supervision.
To their shock, the tiger turned its head and nipped the girl’s calf.
Even though it did not bleed, the bite broke through skin and caused the calf to swell.
Shocked, Feng immediately took her daughter to a clinic.
The doctor disinfected the wound and gave the young girl a vaccine shot.
When Feng demanded the zoo foot her daughter’s medical bill it refused, agreeing to pay only the consultation fee with the doctor.
Unhappy, Feng made a police report over the matter.
Police confirmed receiving a report but said their hands were tied with regards to the matter.
“We can only mediate between the parties and are unable to enforce anything,” a spokesperson said, adding that Feng reserves the right to take legal action.
