MANY Malaysians have come together in solidarity to assist those affected by the mass demonstrations in Indonesia, Kosmo! reported.
Through local ride-hailing apps, they ordered food and drinks, which they then donated to drivers and those affected by the unrest.
This touching gesture has received widespread praise and gratitude from Indonesians on social media.
A social media user, Larasatipusparasa, expressed her appreciation to Malaysians through a post on Threads.
“All of Indonesia should know that our neighbouring country, Malaysia, has stepped in to help, especially Grab drivers in Jakarta.
“They changed their location in the app to Jakarta, placed food orders, and shared them with Grab and Gojek drivers across the city,” she wrote in a post.
A Facebook user, Mimi Hamida, was also moved by the gesture.
“I cried because of the kindness of Malaysians.”
> It was a double celebration for a couple from Chendering, Terengganu, as they welcomed their third child on National Day, reported Utusan Malaysia.
Their newborn also became the first baby in Terengganu to be delivered on the nation’s 68th Independence Day.
Mohd Fairuz Ridzuan Abd Khalid, 39, and his wife, Natasya Ngah, 40, said they were expecting their son to arrive on Sept 30.
“I was enduring labour pain after Maghrib prayers, and at exactly 12.01am on National Day, our third child was born.
“The atmosphere in the room suddenly turned lively as the doctors and nurses shared our joy.”
Adding to the charm of their family story, their two older children were also born on special dates – one on New Year’s Day and the other on a leap year.
