Marrying locals: Foreigners' tactic to legally run business, says Fuziah


KUALA LUMPUR: Marrying locals has been identified as the main modus operandi used by foreigners to conduct business legally in the country, the Dewan Negara was told on Wednesday (Sept 3).

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said this was because the Registration of Businesses Act 1956 (Act 197) only permits Malaysian citizens and permanent residents to register sole proprietorships or partnerships.
