SHAH ALAM: The independence achieved by the nation is not merely symbolic but a profound responsibility entrusted to every Malaysian, to be safeguarded with the utmost commitment, unity and a strong sense of national identity, says Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (pic).

In conjunction with the 68th National Day celebrations, Sultan Sharafuddin highlighted the importance of understanding the true essence of independence, a cause passionately cham­pioned by previous generations who sacrificed greatly to liberate the country from colonial rule.
