National Day: 50% discount for traffic summonses nationwide from Aug 31-Sept 16

PETALING JAYA: In conjunction with the 68th National Day and 62nd Malaysia Day celebration, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has announced a 50% discount for traffic summonses nationwide.

According to the Home Minister, this campaign is a joint effort between the Home Ministry and the police, as well as with MyDigital ID.

Saifuddin Nasution also said the 50% discount is only available for payments made through the "MyBayar PDRM" App using the MyDigital ID login details.

“The campaign will take place from Aug 31 to Sept 16. Therefore, the public is welcome to take this golden opportunity to settle their traffic summonses,” he said in a statement Saturday (Aug 30).

He said that in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day celebration, the government is not just celebrating national achievements, but also providing direct aid to the people.

“This discount is a symbol of appreciation from the government to Malaysians, aside from encouraging the use of national identity as a foundation for the digital transformation of public services.

“I urge all Malaysians to seize this opportunity and support the government’s efforts towards more efficient, transparent and modern services,” said Saifuddin Nasution.

He also said this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the nation’s digital services while providing citizens with an easier, faster and safer way to resolve traffic summonses.

According to Saifuddin Nasution, MyDigital ID serves as a valid and secure digital identity verification method, ensuring more secure access and reducing the risk of identity fraud and misuse of personal information.

“In this implementation, the government through the Home Ministry and the police demonstrates its commitment to prioritising the well-being of its citizens while advancing the country’s digitalisation agenda, in line with the spirit of independence and Malaysia’s progress,” he added.
