Two Pakistanis arrested for molesting 11-year-old disabled girl

SEREMBAN: Police have detained two Pakistanis for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl with disabilities at a bus stop here.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the suspects, aged 20 and 30s were caught on Thursday (Aug 28).

The incident, he said, took place in Taman Tuanku Ja'afar near here.

"Based on a preliminary probe, the suspects came to know the victim via TikTok.

"One of the suspects has also admitted to the crime," he said in a statement.

ACP Hatta said police have obtained an order to remand the suspects for six days until Sept 3.

The case, he said, is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping upon conviction.

"I would also like to remind parents and guardians to continuously monitor your children especially when they use social media.

"Also, we would like to urge the public to report to us if they see children being harassed,” he said, adding that they should not share any clips on social media to protect the identities of the childre,n but to surrender these to the police.
