Motorcyclist killed in three-vehicle pile-up in Perak


 IPOH: A 33-year old motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle collision at Jalan Perdana, Taman Desa Meru, Meru Raya in Perak.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant operations director Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said that a distress call was received at 12.21pm on Saturday (Aug 23).

"The accident involved two cars and a motorcycle.

“The accident caused the motorcyclist to be flung before landing on next to a nearby rover and was confirmed dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel, while all three occupants of the cars sustained only minor injuries,” he said in a statement.

He added that the injured victims were given medical treatment while the deceased was handed over to police for further action.

“The operation was brought under control at 12.45pm and fully concluded at 2.44pm,” he said.
