NCDs to be key focus of Health Ministry for Budget 2026, says Dzulkefly

PUTRAJAYA: Non-communicable diseases (NCD) will be a principal focus of healthcare in Budget 2026, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said this includes an emphasis on preventive medicine and the management of NCDs from the public health aspect.

“We have proposed over and above our usual line of (budgeting),” he told reporters after the launch of the ministry’s guidelines on Managing Workplace Bullying here on Thursday (Aug 21).

He said his ministry has held engagements with the Finance Ministry in relation to the upcoming Budget 2026.

The Health Ministry received RM45.3bil under Budget 2025.
