KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should consider apologising first for various false allegations levelled against the Madani government.
"We will look at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) report.
"But he (Muhyiddin) also needs to apologise for all the slander he has made, for instance that the government is cruel and that we did not give allocations to Kelantan.
"There are many allegations made within and outside of Parliament," the Prime Minister told reporters after officiating at the Asean Law Forum here on Thursday (Aug 21).
Muhyiddin, who is Perikatan Nasional chairman, had earlier urged Anwar to apologise for allegedly accusing him of defending the rights of foreigners in the targeted RON95 fuel subsidy matter.
Last week, Anwar said that he would wait for the outcome of an MCMC investigation.
"I have brought this matter to the attention of MCMC to gather all the explanations.
"And I have no problem, if it is not verified, I have no problem.
"We shall wait for the outcome of MCMC's investigation first," he told Datuk Rosol Wahid (PN-Hulu Terengganu) during the Ministers' Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Aug 14).
On Oct 5, Anwar was reported to have said he had received information that an Opposition MP had defended the rights of foreigners in benefiting from subsidy rationalisation.
Muhyiddin denied the allegations via a social media post, saying that he had never made any remarks suggesting he was defending the rights of foreigners in the RON95 subsidy targeting matter.
