Pahang PKR restructures leadership council

KUANTAN: Pahang PKR has restructured its State Leadership Council (MPN) following a meeting held yesterday, in a move aimed at strengthening the party’s line-up in the state.

State chairman Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi said the new structure brings together a diverse mix of professionals, educators, social activists, reformists and youth leaders.

"This new line-up also reflects the blend of leaders from different races and religions, embodying the spirit of Malaysia MADANI. We believe it will further strengthen unity and PKR’s presence in Pahang," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 16).

Ahmad Farhan added that Pahang PKR has also set poverty eradication as a key agenda, in line with the aspirations of Prime Minister and party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

At the same time, he said the state chapter has unanimously pledged to enhance cooperation with other parties in the Unity Government coalition, particularly Pahang Umno.

Under the new line-up, Ahmad Farhan, who is also Indera Mahkota division chief, is joined by Pahang Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee chairman and PKR Central Leadership Council (MPP) member Dr Sim Chon Siang as deputy chairman.

The vice-chairmen are Bera division chief Senator Manolan Mohamad, Raub division chief G Sivananda and Kuala Krau division chief Mohd Hafez Harun.

Meanwhile, Kuantan division leaders Hilmi Yakap and Sridayu Samsuri were appointed as State Angkatan Muda Keadilan (Youth) and State Wanita (Women’s) chiefs, respectively. - Bernama
