Farmer dies after fall into 150m ravine in Tamparuli

KOTA KINABALU: A farmer’s routine walk to his garden turned out to be his last after he slipped and fell into a 150m ravine in Tamparuli.

Tuaran Fire Station chief Mohamad Nor Amit said they received a distress call at about 8.14 pm on Friday (August 15).

He said the 67-year-old had fallen into the ravine at Kg Kionsom Baru.

A team of 10 personnel was dispatched to the scene about 20 km from the station.

Rescuers located the victim below the ravine and used slope rescue equipment to bring him up.
