Police find overturned MPV with suspected stolen cables in Gerik


IPOH: Police found an overturned multi-purpose vehicle with suspected stolen cables at KM29 of Jalan Gerik-Kupang in Gerik.

Gerik OCPD Supt Abdul Samad Othman said they received information about the overturned car on Tuesday (August 12) at about 8.30am.

He said the car is believed to have lost control and hit a barricade before overturning and added that no driver or passengers were found in the vehicle.

Supt Abdul Samad said several cut cables and equipment used to sever them were found.

He then added that the case will be investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code and urged anyone with information to come forward to help police trace those involved.

Supt Abdul Samad also urged clinics and hospitals to alert police if anyone with suspicious injuries seeks treatment.
