Sabah polls: Warisan to contest all 73 seats in state, confirms Shafie Apdal

SEMPORNA: Opposition Parti Warisan has confirmed that it will contest all 73 state assembly seats in the 17th Sabah state election.

Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) stated that the party has identified candidates with the potential to win and who are accepted by the people in each constituency being contested.

"Warisan will contest 73 seats, we already have candidates who have the potential, we just have to wait for the announcement," he said.

He also dismissed rumours of Warisan collaborating or merging with any party, including Perikatan Nasional, as suggested by netizens and political observers.

"We don't know sometimes there are many stories. Before, there was the story of cooperation with Umno; now, it's Perikatan Nasional. After this, with who else?

"I have stated it quite clearly, our only pact is with the people in Sabah," he said.

Shafie made these remarks to reporters after a gathering with residents of Kampung Imam Laggu, Jalan Kunak-Semporna, on Friday (Aug 1).
