Children stung by jellyfish during open water race in Lumut


IPOH: About 30 children were stung by jellyfish while participating in an open-water race at Teluk Senangin beach in Lumut.

A Civil Defence Force spokesman said the victims were participants in the Teluk Senangin Open Water Swim 2025, held on Saturday (Aug 2).

Three of the participants were sent to Seri Manjung Hospital for further treatment and have been discharged.

The spokesman said the event started at about 8am.

"At about 8.15am, the participants headed to the medical treatment base to receive preliminary attention. The two children were sent to the hospital at about 8.40am," the spokesman said in a statement.
