Unidentified woman's body found under Klang River bridge near Puchong

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of an unidentified woman was found face-down on rocks under the Klang River bridge near Jalan Jurutera in Puchong on Monday (July 28).

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police received a report from the public at about 11.58am, and dispatched a team to the scene.

"Initial examination revealed that the body was dressed entirely in black, and no identification documents or personal belongings were found on the victim.

"A forensics team from the Selangor police headquarters was at the scene and has classified the case as sudden death. Based on the condition of the body, the victim is believed to have been in the river for about 24 hours," he said in a statement the same day.

Wan Azlan said the body has been sent to Serdang Hospital's forensic department for a post-mortem examination, scheduled at 8am on Tuesday, to determine the cause of death.

Members of the public with information or those who have lost a family member are urged to contact Investigating Officer Insp K. Vigneswaran at 014-9229233 or the nearest police station. - Bernama
