Helicopter crash near Sungai Pulai, all onboard rescued


PUTRAJAYA: The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) on Thursday (July 10) confirmed a helicopter accident involving an AS355N aircraft near Sungai Pulai, Gelang Patah, Johor.

The helicopter, operated by the police, had departed from the Tanjung Kupang Police Station at 9.51am with five individuals on board, including the pilot.

According to CAAM, all five were successfully rescued by the Marine Police Force and brought to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) jetty in Johor.

"They have since been transferred to Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru for medical examination and treatment," it said in a statement on Thursday (July 10).

"The Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia will carry out further investigations, in line with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016," it added.
