Croc spotted along Sg Klang, again

PETALING JAYA: A crocodile was spotted, yet again, along the banks of Sungai Klang.

Andrea Pavee, 55, said she was driving towards Bangsar at around noon when she noticed what initially looked like a wooden log near the river between The Gardens Mall and Setia Eco City.

Describing the reptile as about two metres long, she said it was basking near the riverbank.

Kuala Lumpur Perhilitan director Ishak Muhamad confirmed receiving a report and said a team was dispatched to the scene, but the crocodile was no longer there.

“This is not the first report. We have been monitoring this crocodile since March, with sightings near Masjid Jamek, Kampung Attap and Mid Valley,” he said.

Ishak added that the area has plenty of prey to feed on, including monitor lizards and large fish.

“If you see a crocodile, do not panic. Report to Perhilitan immediately. We carry out regular monitoring and will act accordingly to ensure public safety.”
