Decomposed body found in oil palm plantation


IPOH: A decomposed body was found in an oil palm plantation in Trolak on Sunday (June 15).

Muallim OCPD Supt Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said police received a call from a member of the public at 5.13pm, alerting them to the discovery at the Felda Gunung Besout 2 plantation.

He said the body was found hanging from a tree branch.

“It was spotted by an individual who was searching for cattle in the area.

“The site is located roughly about 10m from the main road.

“No identification documents were found on the deceased,” he said in a statement.

The body has been sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for a post-mortem.

The case is currently being classified as a sudden death pending the outcome of the autopsy.

The police are appealing to members of the public who may have missing family members, relatives, or acquaintances to come forward with information to assist in identifying the victim.

Supt Mohd Hasni said those with information are urged to contact acting officer in charge of the Trolak police station Sjn Mohamad Rizal Sahairen, at 017-5603331 or the Muallim District Police Headquarters at 05-4528222.
