POPULAR actress and television host Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim says she is set to take an exciting step in her career by venturing into film production, reported Harian Metro.

Sarimah said it is the right time for her to explore other areas, including filmmaking and distribution, through her own production company, Sarimah Sdn Bhd.

“I’ve planned several film and show projects that will be produced under my company,” she said.

She said her first joint production will be a documentary film.

“It’s in collaboration with Red Communications, and it will be a documentary film highlighting women in the arts and the challenges they face today,” said Sarimah, who is the wife of Tunku Nadzimuddin Tunku Mudzaffar, the grandson of the 10th Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, the late Tuanku Ja’afar Tuanku Abdul Rahman.

Sarimah, and Tunku Nadzimuddin were married in 2015.

When asked if she plans to step back from acting now that she’s taking on a producer’s role, Sarimah clarified that she remains committed to her acting career and will continue to be active in the industry.

“I’m still very much involved in acting,” she said. “This new venture is about expanding my creative journey, not replacing it.

“I still have a passion for acting and want to continue. I look up to talents like Dian Sastrowardoyo, who remains active as an actress while also producing films. That’s the kind of balance I aspire to achieve,” she said.
