Decomposing body found floating in Kangkar Pulai retention pond


JOHOR BARU: A decomposing body has been found floating in a retention pond in Kangkar Pulai.

Acting Iskandar Puteri OCPD Supt Saifullah Jaya said the corpse belonged to a woman whose identity has yet to be identified.

“The floating body was spotted at the pond in Pulai Jaya, Kangkar Pulai by members of the public who lodged a report at 7.09pm on Wednesday (Sept 23).

“The body’s identity and cause of death is still being determined. No criminal element has been identified at present,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Sept 24).

He added that the body was fished out with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department and sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post-mortem and identification.

The case has been classified as a sudden death report pending the post-mortem result, he said.
