HANGZHOU: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia offers a stable, widely connected, and business-friendly base for Chinese and global partners to enter into strategic cooperation.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said this is based on Malaysia's maturing technology ecosystem, supportive government policies, and a rapidly growing network of technology-based enterprises.
"I am keen on Matrade's export strategy to diversify the market in China and product offerings that include high-tech goods and solutions.
"I am pleased to see that they have the ability to compete at the global level and step forward in exploring China's vast digital economy market," he said in a post on X Thursday (Sept 24).
After the bilateral meeting at West Lake Thursday afternoon, Anwar launched the Malaysia Pavilion in conjunction with the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE), which saw Malaysia invited as the Guest Country of Honour.
"Our maiden participation in GDTE this time confirms Malaysia's desire and ambition to emerge as a leading digital trade hub in the Asean region, thereby becoming a strategic bridge connecting Southeast Asia and China," said Anwar.
Anwar also "shook hands" with humanoid robots produced by Agibot, a robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) company from China known for its range of humanoid and intelligent robots.
The Malaysia Pavilion showcased 15 participants, including four government agencies and Malaysian digital and technology-based companies, highlighting Malaysia's capabilities and innovation in digital commerce, AI, cloud services, smart health, and cross-border e-commerce.
The Prime Minister departed for Kuala Lumpur Thursday after completing a three-day working visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou. - Bernama
