Garbage truck driver found dead in passenger’s seat in Cyberjaya


SEPANG: A garbage truck driver was confirmed to have died in the passenger’s seat while on duty at Jalan Cottage Walk, Cyberjaya, here on Friday (May 24).

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman said the police received a report about the incident through a MERS 999 call from the public at 10.45am, reported Sinar Harian.

According to him, the report stated that a man was found unconscious in a garbage truck.

"A police team from Cyberjaya Police Station was deployed to the scene of the incident and found the victim leaning on the front seat of the lorry.

"The victim is a 69-year-old local man who works as a garbage truck driver," he said in a statement on Saturday (May 24).

He stressed that no criminal elements were detected at the scene and the case was classified as a sudden death report (SDR).

The victim's body was sent to the Forensic and Pathology Department, Cyberjaya Hospital for post-mortem.

"The public is advised not to speculate on the incident.

"Those who have more information are asked to contact the Sepang District Police Headquarters Hotline at 03-8777 4222 or any nearby police station," he said.
