IPOH: The lorry driver charged with causing the death of nine Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel in Teluk Intan last week is to be released on bail.
Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin said the employer of Rudi Zulkarnain Md Radi paid the RM6,000 bail at the Teluk Intan Magistrate's Court on Monday (May 19).

"He will be released from the Hilir Perak district police station lock-up shortly. We understand that the employer and some friends raised the money to post bail," he said in a statement on Monday.
Rudi Zulkarnain, 45, pleaded not guilty to nine charges of causing death by dangerous driving at the Teluk Intan Magistrate's Court on Friday (May 16).

He was initially unable to post bail and was detained until the next court mention on June 17.
In the incident at Jalan Chikus-Sungai Lampam on Tuesday (May 13), nine FRU personnel were killed and nine others injured.
Of those injured, six are still hospitalised, with five at Teluk Intan Hospital and one at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, while the rest have been discharged.
