EAIC calls for disciplinary action on AADK top official

SEREMBAN: The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) has recommended that disciplinary action be taken against a National Anti-Drug Enforcement Agency (AADK) top official for dereliction of duty.

The EAIC said on Monday (May 19) that the individual should be referred to the agency's disciplinary board.

It said the individual was said to have issued an order to carry out a raid on a nightclub without obtaining the permission and special approval of AADK headquarters' enforcement and security division director.

"He was also said to have issued an order... to conduct the raid on the nightclub during the day, whereas the complaint they received related to criminal activities that occurred at night.

"Our investigation found that the official had failed to give accurate instructions to the AADK officers and failed to adhere to guidelines for the implementation of enforcement operations and entertainment venue operations," it said.
